See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

My dear, when I tell you about hope,
I want you to imagine
the sweat dropping off Hajra’s skin
as she insistently runs for water
in the midst of the desert.
I want you to feel
the pain and the strength
of a father like Ibrahim
when he looked into his son’s eyes
as a sacrifice to God;
Feel the betrayal in Yusuf’s heart
when his own flesh and blood
tossed him away like garbage
and the thick darkness inside a whale
where Yunus resided, alone.
I want you to picture the wide sea
in front of your feet
as Musa fled from the pharaoh
and how terrified Asiyah must’ve been
as she resisted her violent husband.
Scream, as Bilal’s bones get crushed
while his mouth uttered the shahada
and wonder how Rasulullah
could still continue his path
as blood was flowing down his head
and soiled meat was thrown at him.
And maybe then
when you see it all, feel it all, imagine it all,
you would learn that
thirst didn’t win over Hajra and Ismael,
and Ishaq wasn’t slayed.
Neither did Yusuf end up unsuccessful
and Yunus forgotten.
Musa and his people still crossed the sea,
Bilal saved out of nowhere
and Muhammad’s mission is blooming
like never before -
because my dear
hope means not seeing an escape yourself,
but knowing that Allah
always does.
“O you who believe! be patient and excel in patience and remain steadfast, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, that you may be successful.” (3:200)

سلام عليكم, I was wondering if you could help me out a bit. I understand that plucking the brows is haram, but what about other methods such as threading. I searched but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for. Thank you

You can’t pluck or thread your eyebrows but you can bleach them.

nailahabdalla

You shouldn’t say something is haram unless it’s in the Quran. And also bleaching your eyebrows just looks weird. If you believe that God doesn’t want us to change the way our eyebrows look why is bleaching okay but plucking or threading isn’t. We’re allowed to remove hair from our body.

Sister, we take from the Qur'an AND sunnah.

If you had truly read the Qur'an you would have found in it this verse:

“And whatsoever the Messenger gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it) , and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Severe in punishment.”

[Surah Hashr, 59:7]

The Prophet (ﷺ) has said:

“Allah has cursed those women who practise tattooing and the one who has them done, the one who plucks eyebrows and the one who has it done, and the one who files her teeth for beauty altering the creation of Allah.”

[Muslim]

If the Prophet (ﷺ) has said this then how can we deny it?

Yes, we’re allowed to remove the hair from our bodies but the scholars have divided it into 3 categories:

1. Hair that you can remove or shorten. This is sunan al-Fitrah e.g. removing the hair from the private parts, trimming the moustache and plucking the armpit hairs. And it also includes shaving or cutting the hair of the head during Hajj or ‘Umrah.

2. Hair which is haram to remove e.g. the eyebrows and the beard.

3. Hair which the texts are silent about and haven’t mentioned whether to remove it or leave it e.g. legs, hands, cheeks or forehead. But some scholars say that it is permissable to remove because whatever is not mentioned in the Qur'an or sunnah is permissable.

You can go on islamqa to look for more evidences if you need it.

Don’t practice Islam based on your desires and follow some things whilst leaving out other things. Allah has completed this deen and has chosen it for us, so why do we feel the need to pick and choose what we like?

Forgive me if this came out as harsh sis, it wasn’t in my intentions.

May Allah keep you steadfast on His deen.
